The Reefer Madness family would like to acknowledge the passing of one of our own. Matthew David Shepherd of the Los Angeles production left us on April 5, 2002. He was an eternal source of joy and sunshine, a talented performer and a dear friend. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and loved him.

February 8, 1977 - April 5, 2002

On February 8, 1977, a tiny star stood out; Matthew
David Shepherd was born in Mission Viejo, CA to Ed and
Stephanie Shepherd. From an adorable, loving,
mischievous boy, to an admirable, respected, and
adored man. Matthew was the epitome of light, life,
art and love. He had an extraordinary ability to light
up a room, make a frown smile, and make a heart love.
Matthew was full of life and energy and was so loved
by everyone who knew him. A rare gift to this world,
Matthew was an amazingly talented actor with the most
infectious laugh and the most creative writer with the
wittiest of tongues. Matthew had the utmost respect
and love for his parents, he had a best friend in a
brother whom he loved very much, and took great pride
in being a devoted and giving friend. On April 5,
2002, Matthew David Shepherd entered into God's
Kingdom in the most peaceful way surrounded by dozens
of loved ones. Matthew leaves behind his beloved
mother and father, his brother Eddie, a loving family
and an abundance of friends that will grieve the loss
of this magnificent soul. Matthew will be greatly
missed and will forever be remembered as a courageous
son, a determined mind and an amorous soul that dreamt
